After DSLR, Next is a Photography Course

October 30th, 2011

I made sure I already owned the DSLR of my dreams before I enrolled in a photography course in Leeds as I knew it was going to be pointless if I take the course first before I get my DSLR. I would have enrolled in the course a whole lot earlier had it not been because of the fact that I chose to purchase my camera in cash instead of just having my credit card take care of it as I am a stress freak and I knew I will never be able to rest and enjoy the gadget knowing that I have not paid for the entire thing yet. So all those months saving up, I just contented myself with using my cheap point and shoot (PAS) digital camera which had been with me for three years already. Then when finally I managed to make the purchase, I right away searched for the best available digital photography course which dealt with utilizing my DSLR to the hilt.

Getting the Best Sigma Lens Deal

October 28th, 2011

I am very happy with this best Sigma lens deal that I got online. Most people are afraid to buy lenses online. I was one of them. I was afraid that the lens that I will get does not turn right. The problem such as chromatic aberration, distortion, vignetting and sharpness concern me. The thing that I am most concerned is the autofocus calibration. Sigma lenses are known to have many autofocus calibration issue. When you have a lens that is not properly calibrated in terms of autofocus, you will not have sharp pictures. This can be very annoying at times since you can think you are using a great lens. Thankfully, Sigma offers a good customer service that will make returning and servicing the lens a no brainer. However, if you can, try to avoid this in the first place. The lens that I got online turned out to be fine.

Get the Most out of Your Photography with These Tips!

October 28th, 2011

A lot of people see a gorgeous photograph and wonder if they would be able to create the same kind of image with their own camera using what they see in their every day life. There are a lot of tips and suggestions that are out there that can help you recreate any of your favorite images.

An important tip to consider with photography is to make sure that you take as many pictures as possible of a certain subject and decide later which one is the best. This is important because with the luxury of digital photography you are able to do this and ensure that you do not miss the moment you were hoping to capture.

Use a polarizing lens filter on your camera to minimize glare from direct sunlight and to create an even distribution of light. This is essential when shooting in direct sunlight, but also can be beneficial in any lighting situation. Think of polarizing lens filters as sunglasses for your best compact camera. They are inexpensive, easy to attach and have the added benefit of protecting your expensive lenses from scratches.

Use a diffuser to minimize the negative effects of flash photography. The built-in flash on most cameras produce photos that have a high light-dark contrast, which makes them look harsh and unrealistic. A diffuser diffuses the light from the flash, distributing it more evenly and making your flash photos look more natural.

Improve your photographs by using a tripod. This is not always necessary for snapshots, but is imperative when using slower shutter speeds. Shaky hands can ruin a picture by making it blurry. Tripods also help you make sure your photo is level; if it is a landscape, you do not want the horizon line to be uneven.

Using all or some of these tips can help drastically improve the quality of shots you get with your camera in your every day life. Try taking a picture or set of pictures using these tips today and see what kind of difference you are able to notice in your photos.
